USFS FIRE LOOKOUTS 1967-1972

-- In 1967 & 68 and 1972 & 73 I spent my summers living atop small mountain tops, keeping an eye out for forest fires. These are a few photos from those summers. Few lookouts are still manned, and a few more have been restored, but many are deteriorating or have been dismantled. I have some excellent books about lookouts in the NW in my list of books.
