The West Point dig in Seattle in the early 90s. This was an interesting site in that it provided important data about the area dating back to ca. 4000 before present. There was a timetable regarding this project, as it was directly in the way of the big pipe, metaphorically allowing Seattleites to flush. The site was below sea level, as it was buried a few hundred years ago during the last major earthquake & accompanying tsunami, the level of the site subsiding at the time. We had to keep the pumps going or risk walking in goo.
