Holm and Reid

These photos are mostly of Bill Reid and his assistant working on the first “new” pole on the Queen Charlotte Islands in over 50 years. The door was carved by Reid, the skinny photo is a modern pole carved by Bill Holm, and the closeup is of Bill Holm demonstrating how to split spruce roots used for lashing salmon to a wooden framework in preparation for roasting.
